"'l'll never forget the day,
actually, the moment when
I called the principal. I was acutely aware that my life would never
be the same. I dialed his number on my cell phone, but before I pressed
"SEND," a
million doubts and emotions overwhelmed me. Everything seemed to happen in
slow motion, like in a movie. I knew pressing that button would change my life.
When I finally had him on the line, I didn't
even know how to begin. ''Hi.' I started shakily, ' My name is Andrea
Cieri. I need to report some sexual misconduct about a teacher I had...'
I didn't even have to continue. "I remember you, Andrea." the
principal said. "And you don't even
need to to tell me who it is. It's Bob Baker, isn't it?" My stomach turned to ice. I was so
surprised, relieved and sick, all at the same time, it was all I could
do to say "Yes."
